Korea-China-Japan Cooperation is Engine of Global Economic Recovery


The finance ministers and central bank governors of Korea, China, and Japan have a meeting in Songdo, Incheon, Korea on May 2.

“Cooperation between South Korea, China, and Japan can be the engine of a rapid and sustainable recovery of the global economy,” said Chu Kyung-ho, deputy prime minister and minister of strategy and finance of South Korea. He spoke at a meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors from South Korea, China, and Japan in Songdo, Incheon, on May 2.

“The three countries account for more than 20 percent of the global economy and 80 percent of the ASEAN+3 region,” Chu said. “As the global economy is at a critical inflection point, cooperation among the three economies is crucial for South Korea, China, and Japan, the ASEAN+3 region, and the world.”
