Aside from having more than 1,000 horsepower and a sub-2 second zero to 60 time, the Tesla Model S Plaid has some insanely cool features. The price is well north of $100,000, but, for the money, there’s a lot that the S Plaid offers. Taking into account that there would be people eager to put all those ponies to work, Tesla implemented a Track Mode. It optimizes the S Plaid’s cooling system to prioritize the battery and brakes, sharpens steering response and stiffens the suspension.
The infotainment then transforms into a screen full of information like tire pressure, speed, and with the right accompanying equipment: lap times. If you’re not doing laps, Tesla also equipped the S Plaid with a Drag Strip mode. When put into that mode, the battery is warmed, the front is poised into what Tesla calls a “Cheetah” stance when the brake and accelerator pedals are pressed at the same time.
